New service X91 and extension to service 88

From Monday 6th November, 2017

These new services are being funded by new housing in Brackley, Silverstone and Towcester and are therefore designed to be fast and frequent, directly serving these sites and running on direct routes to their destinations.

Syresham Wins Small Village of the Year 2017

Syresham has won the best small village category of the 2017 Northamptonshire Best Village Competition. The competition is run by Northamptonshire ACRE. The winners were announced at a presentation evening on Tuesday 18th July at the Hunsbury Hill Centre, Northampton.

Pimlico Light Railway

Pimlico Light Railway (in Syresham Parish) celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2016 and is hugely popular. Even though its only open from 3-5pm on the fourth Sunday of the summer months, it attracts around 800 passengers per year.

Public running days are Sundays May 28th; June 25th; July 23rd; August 27th and September 24th (unless wet)

Tesco Bags of Help Grant

The Parish Council were successfully awarded £1000 towards the project to replace the bark chippings in the Swingfield. As you can see the bark is now replaced and the areas backfilled with topsoil and grass seed. The Swingfield is open and areas not marked off with red and white tape can be used, however please keep off the newly seeded areas until the tape is removed.

Syresham Village Hall Open Meeting

The resolution below was approved on the 2nd December:

The Trustees of Syresham Village Hall (Charity number 304250) resolve to sell the existing Village Hall site on High Street, Syresham to allow a new Village Hall to be built on Main Road, Syresham at the appropriate time. The new Village Hall will be constructed and fully operational before the existing Village Hall is demolished. At no time will Syresham be without a Village Hall.. Read More »

Plans for a new village hall and 26 houses

The plans for a new village hall and 26 houses will be on display in the village hall between 1-5pm and between 7-7.30pm on Wednesday 27th April. The Parish Council meeting will start at 7.30pm on the 27th and the plans will formally be considered at this meeting.

No.8 Bus Service - update

Cllrs Dunkley and Munsey met with County Councillor Michael Clarke (Cabinet member for Highways, Transportation & Environment) just before the Cabinet meeting on the 18th Feb. Cllr Clarke explained that "the current bus service is commercial during the peak rush hour period from Silverstone to Brackley .
