Bulk Oil ordering in Syresham?
The Parish Council has become aware of a new scheme being run in the county whereby bulk ordering and preferential prices for a minimum order of 500 litres of heating oil at any individual address may be of advantage to householders. Deliveries can be made at specified times each month once requests are received and orders have been placed.
Details of the scheme may be found at http://northantsacre.org.uk/files/2011/09/Membership-leaflet.pdf.
The application form can be found under Parish Council, Documents.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION: RECYCLE YOUR E-WASTE
Residents in South Northamptonshire will be encouraged to use the post-Christmas lull to clear out their sheds and cupboards and recycle their electronic waste (e-waste).
South Northants Council, in conjunction with Weee Connect and European Recycling Platform (ERP) is launching a campaign to raise awareness of the need to recycle waste electronics, such as washing machines, fridges, televisions and electronic gadgets – anything with a plug or battery.
E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. Raising public awareness of this type of recycling is particularly important as changes to legislation could mean that the UK will have to meet substantially higher e-waste collection rates from 2016.
So far in 2011, South Northamptonshire Council has collected almost 43 tonnes of e-waste at its household waste recycling centres.
“We all have broken electricals at home, sitting in the cupboard or garage,” Cllr Dermot Bambridge, portfolio holder for environment at South Northamptonshire Council said this week. “Why not have a good clear-out this month and take all broken and unwanted battery-powered items or products with a plug down to the recycling centre?”
For more information about where you can recycle your unwanted or broken electronic items, please visit www.southnorthants.gov.ukor go to WRAP's Recycle Now site to find your nearest recycling centre: www.recyclenow.com
101 is the new number to contact Northamptonshire Police.
Several books have been written giving a detailed history of the village, including Dr Philip Pettit’s ‘Syresham – A Forest Village’

comprises the village itself, the smaller settlements of Crowfield and Pimlico, and a small number of outlying farms and rural properties, altogether some 300+ dwellings. To the Planners of Northamptonshire it is a 'restricted infill village', which means that appropriate small scale developments are only permitted within the village confines.Syresham is advantageously served by good road communications. Northampton, Oxford, Milton Keynes and Banbury are within shopping distance, and it is only a 20 minute drive from two of the UK's main motorways, the M1 and the M40 putting London and Birmingham just over an hour away. The world famous Silverstone race track borders on the Parish boundary and the local towns of Towcester, Buckingham and Brackley all have a good range of shops and businesses close by.
EMERGENCY PLAN
The Parish Council Emergency Plan has been updated and details can be seen on the Parish Council notice board on the wall of the Chapel Sunday School in Bell Lane. This plan was brought into action recently when a serious fire occurred at the Green Man.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH AND SMARTWATER
The parish coordinator is Ruth Grovell at the Post Office. Syresham is a Smartwater village. Many residents have already purchased Smartwater to mark their valuables.
If anyone requires further information, please ask Ruth.
