£4 MILLION FUND TO TACKLE FUEL POVERTY

Vulnerable people in South Northants paying more than they should for heating are set to receive a helping hand from the £4 million Warm Homes Fund (WHF).

In partnership with all the other local authorities in the county, South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) aims to provide fully funded central heating to eligible households.

The scheme will be officially launched on Tuesday, 14 January 2020.

Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC's portfolio holder for wellbeing, said: "If you or someone you know has had to go without a meal or made other sacrifices just to keep warm, please get in touch. The fund it not unlimited so please do not wait to make the call any longer than necessary."

The scheme is being run by the Northamptonshire Warm Homes Partnership, Surefire Management Services and Agility UK.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to set up NACRE Good Neighbour Scheme in Syresham. Please help.

The scheme's volunteers provide day-to-day support for other residents who may need help on an occasional or regular basis. Helping people live independently in their own homes and reducing loneliness.

Type of help that might be offered includes: mowing a lawn, help with shopping, visits to doctors, changing a light bulb, etc.
